Our Story
The New Buffalo Brewing Company began to take shape long before I realized my true passion of brewing delicious beer. This is our story.
My first job was hardly a glamorous one; a garbage man at a factory in western New York. My father has worked in the manufacturing industry his whole life and I was proud to follow in his footsteps. My family has always believed that manufacturing a quality product is part of what really makes America great.
During my time at the factory, I learned some great lessons from my coworkers. They taught me the value of earning an honest wage and providing for your family. Through their blood, sweat, and tears, that factory operated day in and day out creating a quality, reliable American-made product.
What was their reward at the end of the day? A cold beer, as honest and worthwhile as their day's work.
When it was time to leave home, I decided to join the U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), to better prepare for serving our country. Like on most college campuses across America, beer was an integral part of the social life. Some of my greatest stories come from the late nights spent with good friends and raised glasses, but those are saved for a different time.
Later, as a Second Lieutenant at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, TX, I met a number of enthusiastic home-brewers and connoisseurs of the finer beers. They inspired me to invest in a Brewer's Starting Kit and experiment with my own brews. I knew right away I had found one of my life's great passions. I wanted to make a brew worthy of all those great moments I had seen throughout my life. I wanted to start my own brewery.
Hours upon hours of research, meticulous planning, searching for the right master brewer, and smart investing all went into a dream I knew would be worth it.
Then came the big question. Where would I build my dream? Well my friends, that answer was simple. There was only one place it could go: The Great City of Buffalo, New York…my hometown.
So follow us on our great brewing adventure here on our website, on Facebook, or on our blog. I look forward to sharing my passion with all of you; one of life's simple pleasures, a well-crafted quality beer.
Cheers!
